VC Španělska - 16.05.2021

Quali - I was unexpected to get pole positon for this race. In my last try i gave everything i got and overtook Patrik for the pole position. Didn't expect that really

Race - The race was very difficult. Even though i had a good start during the first stint Patrick and Jan were very close to me and we matched race pace. But as for me i didnt had a good pace on medium tyres and i had to defend against Patrick. But he pitted earlier than me and made undercut after i went for hard tyres. I pushed really hard and overtook him. I was really suprised that i had a good pace advantage and could make a gap in 4-5 seconds. For the second time Patrick pitted earlier again and i had to push for inlap not to make undercut again.

For the third stint i had an issue with the tyre managment and i understood it on lap 50. I was thinking about boxing another time for the softs or mediums. Patrick was gaining on me by 2-3 tenths per lap and on lap 58 i risked and pitted for the softs. I was so desperate to catch him up and was suprised that the softs very fast. I had to do some cooling laps not to overheat softs and make them to the end. On the last lap i overtook Patrick and finished the race on the first position. Congrats to Patrick and Jan for the podiums

Overall i could say that it was a great between me and Patrick. We really pushed each other to the limit and if it continues till the end of the season, it would be fun to watch. I just need to be consistent throught the whole season and improve my tyre managment.
